CSI Celebrates SEAOC's 80th Anniversary
13-Sep-2012Members of the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) recently gathered as part of their annual convention for a CSI sponsored black-tie reception at the Gerald Peters Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Both the venue and the event were truly extraordinary. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with tray-passed champagne and an impassioned flamenco performance. Endless-buffet tables were located throughout the many spaces of the gallery such that guests could dine on magnificent culinary offerings as they drifted about, mingled in fantastic company, and perused the world-renowned art collection. Classic Western, Impressionist, American Modern, and other fine art varieties lined the gallery interior, while the stately sculpture garden offered an alluring outdoor space where guests could enjoy the pristine Santa Fe evening.

He was a world-renowned researcher in the field of earthquake engineering and a beloved teacher and good friend to all of us here at CSI. We mourn the passing of an individual who made extraordinary contributions to the field of engineering.
CSI Celebrates 37 Years of Innovation
10-Apr-2012On Saturday, March 24, 2012, nearly 800 people convened at San Francisco City Hall to commemorate the 37th anniversary of Computers & Structures, Inc. Guests included prominent members of the structural engineering profession, professors, researchers, civic leaders, customers, employees, and old friends who came from across North America and from more than 25 countries worldwide. The celebration was the culmination of CSI's international dealer conference, which was held at the Marriott Union Square and was attended by CSI software resellers from around the globe.
CSI Italia to Host SAP2000 Seminar in Genoa, Italy - February 24

CSI and SEAOC Celebrate Professor Wilson's 80th Birthday

Wilson, pioneer of computer-based structural-engineering application, celebrated his 80th birthday on September 23, 2011 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. This extravagant event, with incredible food and a full-length performance of Cirque du Soleil's "O", was organized by CSI, and held in conjunction with the annual SEAOC Convention.
The Passing of a Pioneer in Earthquake Engineering
27-Sep-2011Professor Emeritus Joseph Penzien passed away on September 19, 2011. While serving as Professor of Civil Engineering at UC Berkeley, between 1953 and 1988, Penzien authored Dynamics of Structures, founded the Earthquake Engineering Research Center (EERC), created the world’s first modern shake table, and otherwise led the department to become a premier academic institution through his legacy of innovative contribution and exceptional character. CSI celebrates his life and achievement.
CSI Honors Professor Edward Wilson on His 80th Birthday
